Inside: My review of Boldify Hair Thickening Spray
This is a sponsored post on behalf of Boldify. All opinions are my own and are not influenced by outside parties.
Do you have fine, thin hair? Does it hang there, limply, even after it’s styled?
It’s a common problem, especially as women age and experience hormonal fluctuations that lead to hair loss.
Luckily, there’s a type of product that promises to amp up the volume on your hair – it’s called thickening spray and apparently I’ve been living under a rock because I’d never heard of it until recently.
Boldify, a company that specializes in these types of products, reached out to me and asked me to review their Boldify Hair Thickening Spray in exchange for an honest review.
I have fine hair and sometimes I want to add a little extra oomph to it, so I agreed to test it out!
WHAT IS BOLDIFY HAIR THICKENING SPRAY?
Boldify Hair Thickening Spray is a lightweight texturizing volume spray that increases the fullness of your hair without weighing it down. It makes your hair appear thicker and fuller while keeping your hair flexible and natural-looking all day long.
HOW TO USE IT
Step 1: Wash hair with your favorite shampoo
Step 2: Spray Boldify on damp, towel-dried hair
Step 3: Air dry or blow dry (* air dry only if you have gray hair – see below)
I admit to having a lifelong hatred of hairsprays, as the ones I used in my youth (like AquaNet) tended to weigh my hair down and make it stiff. And they were often heavily, cloyingly scented.
But Boldify’s scent is very light, it dissipates shortly after application, and it doesn’t trigger my allergies, which I appreciate.
And, unlike the Earth-destroying aerosol sprays of my youth, Boldify delivers a light mist when you pump it onto your hair. It only took me about 4 pumps to cover my hair.
I like to air dry my hair most of the time, as I’m trying to avoid heat, which can yellow gray hair.
So, after washing and conditioning, I wrapped my hair in a t-shirt towel for 10-15 minutes, and then sprayed my hair with Boldify, and combed it through.
Here’s how my hair looked after air-drying without Boldify:
And here’s how it looked after air-drying with Boldify:
As you can see, the volume is insane with Boldify! My hair is naturally wavy but this seemed to amp up the waves even more.
My hair felt and looked much thicker.
I used the Revlon One-Step Volumizer (set on LOW) instead of a regular blow-dryer, and the first thing I noticed after I started trying to dry my hair was that it was more difficult to pull the brush through my hair after using Boldify.
Normally, my hair glides through effortlessly, but this time the roller brush kept getting a bit stuck on my hair while I was pulling my hair through it, which made me admittedly nervous!
Hot tools combined with products can stain gray hair, and my hair looked like it was taking on caramel tones as I was drying it.
My blow-dried hair appeared much thicker after using the Boldify Hair Thickening Spray.
It felt very voluminous and luxuriously thick and soft, BUT I will never use it again with a hot tool as the caramel staining did NOT come out until (eventually) it was cut out over a period of time.
So, to protect your gray hair from any discoloration, I suggest only using this product on air-dried hair.
If your hair is not gray, I’d say you could definitely use the thickening spray on your hair with no qualms if you plan to blow-dry.
HOW LONG DOES THE THICKENING LAST?
I only wash my hair once or twice a week, so I’m delighted to announce that the thickening results lasted up to 4 days (whether air-drying or blow-drying).
As you’d expect, my hair appeared thickest on the first day, but I didn’t notice any big decline in results after that.
The thickening spray washes out fairly easily, but I do recommend using a clarifying shampoo once a week to remove any product build-up (which can cause yellowing).

BOLDIFY HAIR BOOST GUMMIES
The Boldify Hair Boost Gummies promote long, strong, and healthy hair, and promise to boost hair growth. They are 100% certified vegan and sugar-free.
These gummies are hands-down the most delicious biotin hair gummies I’ve ever tasted! They also don’t clump together, which is fantastic.
They are sweet but not overly sweet.
Do they work? It’s so hard to say. My hair is already fairly healthy so I haven’t seen dramatic results.
But, I have a sensitive stomach and react poorly to traditional vitamins (in pill or capsule form), so I use the gummies figuring that it can’t hurt.
WHERE TO BUY BOLDIFY HAIR THICKENING SPRAY
You can buy Boldify products on Amazon, or at their website.
I was a bit skeptical as to whether Boldify Hair Thickening Spray would work, but it DID. So, if you want to add a little extra volume or “oomph” to your hair, give it a try!

I love this spray! 4 pumps in the palm of my hand is the perfect amount for my fine/short hair. I blow it upside down until 80% dry, then finish with a round brush. My hair is soft, full with lots of volume. It gives me great second day hair too. I haven’t had any issues with the brush catching or my hair changing color. I have the gummies to try too, but am finishing a different brand first.
I’m so glad you love it – I think it’s amazing!
Your website is so encouraging for appreciating silver hair. Mine is just now beginning to turn so I am preparing ahead to know how to make it look its best. And I have to admit that I will be 80 years old in May of 2021 so I’ve been waiting a long time to be a silver sister. I love the look of white hair on my friends and want to catch up. Love your site.
Thanks, Laine! I’m so glad you like it! And it’s never too late to be a silver sister 🙂
