Gray Hair, Great Brows: My Eye Embrace Review
Inside: Looking for eyebrow products that truly complement your unique gray hair shade? You’ve come to the right place! Today I’m reviewing Eye Embrace, whose Silver Sisters Collection offers the widest range of gray-friendly options I’ve ever seen.

This post was created in partnership with Eye Embrace. I’m thrilled to work with a brand that celebrates silver-haired women like us! All opinions are 100% my own and, as always, Katie Goes Platinum only works with brands I love and trust.
A few years ago, one of my readers suggested that I check out Eye Embrace’s line of eyebrow products made specifically for women with gray, silver, and salt & pepper hair.
Honestly, I’ve always been a bit lazy about my brow routine, but her timing couldn’t have been better. I was just starting to notice new white and gray hairs in my dark eyebrows, and I wasn’t quite sure how to handle them.
My usual black and dark brown pencils suddenly looked too harsh against my mature skin, yet every gray pencil I found at the drugstore was too warm for my cool complexion.
So imagine my delight when I discovered that Eye Embrace offers a wide range of shades that flatter both your gray hair shade and your skin tone.
I’ve been a fan ever since!

Why I Love Eye Embrace
I love Eye Embrace for a variety of reasons, but the biggest one is that they champion gray-haired women while most beauty brands overlook us – and that means a lot!
Eye Embrace’s shade range is super inclusive and flatters a wide variety of gray-hair eyebrows, offering light gray, medium gray, and brown–gray options.
I also love their brand’s values. All of their products are:
- Cruelty-free / Leaping Bunny Certified
- Made with clean ingredients
- Vegan and Gluten-Free
- Reasonably priced
Why I’m Sure You’ll Love Them Too
I’m confident you’ll love Eye Embrace products as much as I do.
They’re smooth, blendable, and natural-looking, so you can easily create the exact brow look you want, whether that’s soft and natural or more defined and dramatic.
They are also waterproof and smudge-proof, yet easy to remove with a simple makeup wipe.
Another big plus? They offer cool-toned shades as well as more traditional warm gray shades, which is a welcome surprise!

For years, it’s been a big complaint in the gray-hair community that the average eyebrow products leaned too warm or orange, and that’s definitely not the case here.
And since Eye Embrace offers several different types of eyebrow products, you can experiment to find the formula that fits your personal preference.
Finding Your Perfect Shade
Here’s a quick guide to help you find the perfect shade for your coloring. (If you’re not sure about your coloring, take this quiz).
- Cool Tones: Cool Helen, Grace
Ideal if your gray hair has silver undertones, or if you have cool or pink-toned skin. - Neutral Tones: Luna, Isla, Flora
If you look equally good in both warm and cool tones, any of the Eye Embrace shades should work, but these three might suit you best. - Warm Tones: Warm Betty, Liz,
Perfect for silver sisters whose gray hair has beige or golden undertones, or for warmer, peachy skin tones.

Katie’s tip: The general rule of thumb is that your eyebrows should be two shades darker than your natural hair, but that is completely subjective – it really depends on your personal preference. When in doubt, start with a slightly lighter shade as it’s always easier to build depth than to tone down an overly dark brow.
And keep in mind that you might find that an unexpected shade suits you best. For example, even though I have cool-toned skin with pink undertones, Flora suits me best because my it matches my eyebrows and the underneath layer of my silver hair.
Product Deep Dive
Now let’s take a closer look at each of the products in their Silver Sister Collection so you can decide which one’s right for you.
Eyebrow Powder
Available in the following shades: Cool Helen, Grace, Luna, Isla, Flora, Warm Betty, Liz

I’m more of a pencil gal myself, but Eye Embrace powders are great for women who prefer a softer, fuller, and more diffused eyebrow.
The blendable formula builds easily from sheer to full, creating natural fullness without harsh edges.
Eyebrow powder is perfect for everyday wear, especially if you like your eyebrows to complement your makeup rather than dominate it, but be sure to pick your color wisely, as I find that powders tend to make brows darker than intended.

Tip: Apply with the Pro Grip Double-Ended Angled Makeup Brush and press the powder into the brow rather than sweeping. It will look more natural and last longer.
- Best For: Softer, fuller eyebrows
- Features: Waterproof, smudge-proof, and talc-free. You can also use it as a hair powder to blend your roots, which is awesome.
- Katie’s Take: Even though these are high-quality powders, I prefer a pencil as they’re more precise. But if you want a more diffused look, I’m sure you’ll love these powders.
Micro Tip Eyebrow Pencil with Spoolie Brush
Available in the following shades: Warm Betty, Liz, Luna, Isla, Flora

If you like a brow that looks soft, natural, and real, the Micro-Tip pencil is a keeper.
The fine retractable tip lets you draw tiny hair-like strokes, while the built-in spoolie diffuses color for a seamless blend.
It’s perfect if you have thinner or patchy brows and want to create fullness without going overboard. The creamy, long-wear formula glides on effortlessly and stays put all day.
Honestly, I was afraid the results would look unnatural. But after I “drew in” the hairs and used the spoolie to blend them, my eyebrows looked beautiful and naturally fuller.
It’s now my favorite Eye Embrace pencil! For some reason, it doesn’t come in either of the cool colors, so I tried it in Flora and was happy with the results!

Tip: Use short, upward strokes at the front of your brow and longer strokes toward the tail for the most realistic effect. Blend with the spoolie for an ultra-natural finish.
- Best for: Precision and natural “hair-like” strokes.
- Features: Microtip + spoolie in one, twist to sharpen
- Katie’s Take: Perfect for filling in sparse brows without looking “drawn on.”
Classic Wooden Eyebrow Pencil with Sharpener and Spoolie Brush
Available in the following shades: Cool Helen, Warm Betty, Liz, Luna, Isla

If you prefer a pencil that you can sharpen to a perfect point, the Classic Wooden Pencil is for you.
It offers smooth, even color payoff and gives you total control: You can use light pressure for a natural daytime look, and firmer for bolder definition.
I found this to be a well-made, traditional eyebrow pencil. However, the tip broke off once I opened the cap, and I didn’t have great luck with the built-in sharpener, as the tip kept breaking off every time I sharpened it.
I ended up having to use my own sharpener, which wasn’t a big deal, but would be inconvenient if I’d been out and about with no access to a sharpener.
However, the result was beautiful, and this pencil is great if you like an old-school feel and don’t mind sharpening it between uses.

Tip: Keep it slightly dull for a softer, more forgiving line that mimics natural brow hairs.
- Best for: Makeup traditionalists who like classic control.
- Features: Smooth texture, built-in sharpener, talc-free
- Katie’s Take: Old-school but reliable. Great if you like a softer look. Best to use your own sharpener.
Diamond Wedge Eyebrow Pencil with Spoolie
Available in the following shades: Cool Helen, Warm Betty, Grace, Liz, Luna, Isla, Flora

Need a quick, easy way to define your brows in one pass? Try the Diamond Wedge Pencil.
The unique angled tip lets you both outline and fill quickly. Use the narrow edge for precision and the flat side for broader strokes.
It’s great for anyone who wants perfectly shaped brows in seconds. My eyebrow skills are admittedly not the best, but even I can get beautiful eyebrows quickly with the diamond-wedge pencil.

Tip: After outlining your shape, flip the pencil and use the wider edge to softly fill the center to get instant definition.
- Best for: Quick application and well-defined brows
- Features: Unique wedge tip, twist to sharpen, talc-free
- Katie’s Take: This is my other favorite Eye Embrace pencil, as I love the precision and that I don’t need to sharpen it!
