Luckily, there’s a type of product that promises to amp up the volume on your hair – it’s called thickening spray and apparently I’ve been living under a rock because I’d never heard of it until recently.
Step 1: Wash hair with your favorite shampoo
Step 2: Spray Boldify on damp, towel-dried hair
Step 3: Air dry or blow dry (* air dry only if you have gray hair – see below)
Unlike the Earth-destroying aerosol sprays of my youth, Boldify delivers a light mist when you pump it onto your hair. It only took me about 4 pumps to cover my hair.
So, after washing and conditioning, I wrapped my hair in a t-shirt towel for 10-15 minutes, and then sprayed my hair with Boldify, and combed it through.
I used the Revlon One-Step Volumizer (set on LOW) instead of a regular blow-dryer, and the first thing I noticed after I started trying to dry my hair was that it was more difficult to pull the brush through my hair after using Boldify.
I only wash my hair once or twice a week, so I’m delighted to announce that the thickening results lasted up to 4 days (whether air-drying or blow-drying).
